Keystone is considered the bulk of enlightened humanity. Here, technology and magic are in a continuous race to outdo each other. Dwarven smiths, gnome tinkerers and human ingenuity combine into a mass of structured confusion. Although dwarves, humans and gnomes are the usual inhabitants, other races from all over Welstar can be found here.

Keystone's name comes from the saying "Keystone of the World," which explains the use of technology and magic. Using magical airships, the armies are equiped with gliders, called Sweeps, that bombard enemies from above. The infantry uses an arquebus, a crude version of a rifle.

The Keystone Empire was once much larger, but due to three successive wars has lost considerable ground.
