Ares is an old god. Known for pure battle and the lust of war, he differentiates himself from other war deities in his need to see bloodshed. He does not want to destroy the world so much as to have it heaped full of rotting corpses. Some say Ares draws his power solely from death, and in a fashion similar to the Nameless One, hopes to one day free himself from the Retroverse by amassing enough souls.

WORSHIPPERS: Fighters usually worship Ares in deference to his might (he's the deity they mutter under their breath when they bury corpses, now you know). However, it's more a grudging respect than any sort of worship. Ares neither cares nor blesses those who venerate him -- all he wants is bloodshed. It could be said that anyone who makes a career of killing sentient beings worships Ares.

PRIMARY PLANET: Perdow, if only because more bloodshed happens there than any of the other planets.

AVATAR: Ares, thankfully, has never decided to create an Avatar. It is said even the other gods dread the day Ares decides to do so, for his attention is an unwelcome one.
